| Stupid diesel!!! IMHO POS!!!!
Every diesel benz I have bought in the past 6 months has craped out with in 8 weeks. IMHO POS!!! An 85 300cd 198K and an 80 300TDT 245K paid $2100 for the CD and $350 for the TDT. Motor pooped in 85 and tranny in 80. What should I do guys, I thought diesels were so great...yeah right POS!!! Looking for gasser now....or should I. |

As for the wagon, you get what you pay for.
And you've had only one diesel 'crap out,' the wagon lost the tranny, not the engine, which could happen to a gasser or diesel.
Did you have the CD checked out by a mechanic before buying including a compression test?
One out of one million MB diesels does not a POS make. My 300 D runs perfectly at 400,000 miles. |

I love my diesel! I payed 1400 and it havnt pooped on me yet, but the car looks like poo poo
I have a 240d and it pooped but the engine was so wise with 790k it was beging for a rebuild, then the timing chain broke..
Im thinking of getting another engine for the white 240d, because im not taking it to a junkyard, its famous. |

Your choice has been based on price it seems. You get what you pay for. A good doesel is wrth $4-5,000. With as many miles as the ones you have been buying, it's no wonder their next stop is the boneyard! Maybe lookat the maintenance record before you buy. |

If you are looking for some cheap transportation that gets good gas milage, try a Neon. When you are old enough to understand how to purchase a functioning automobile, you can consider a diesel Benz again. |
