Hope you take a G wagon, as darned if I can recall ever seeing one locally!. What machine will you take? The 560. I really love the old bugger, and a country run every now and again is good for both of us - we both get the chance to...assert!.

shrimpton Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: My new 'Black' AMG Monoblocks Damn - hope that didn't sound arrogant!. By assert I mean payback to the wanker factor that I tolerate on a work- daily basis (when driving my van) that I can - in return piss off - if I want to (yeah, I know...), in the 560. I also enjoy driving a vehicle without the inbuilt pong of Turps.

The 280GE is great to drive but the clutch ain't to crash hot at the mo. In fact right now it is off the road getting the brakes fixed, hopefully coming back home tomorrow. One of my 300GEs is sitting outside because of stupid idiotic rules here in NZ that mean I can't get it registered. The other one is getting some work done on it at the mo so it can get registered. As for the SLK. Well that is up in Auckland sitting on the warf because the shipping company sent it to the wrong port!!!! And the E320 missed the boat all together so it is sitting in Japan!!!!!!! So at this stage I own 6 Mercs and can only drive one!

I need to get my 280GE tunned. Up in Auckland I had a Benz mechanic that only charged $55/hr!!! Cheap and very very good. But down this way I wouldn't have a clue....

nomad Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: My new 'Black' AMG Monoblocks I do what I can myself, luckily I've yet to have anything major go wrong with my cars yet (touch wood) For the few things I've needed work done professionally, I go to Kevin Burt, right in central chch He's rather pricey but regarded as thee best Mercedes expert around these parts when it comes to these old cars, better even than the local dealer As for my exhaust, previously I went to Magoo Muffler in Durham St in town, they did a good job I planned to go to them to have my mods done but may find somewhere else as I think they are asking to much for what I want done A couple of months before I even had my new exhaust put in I had my cats removed by Pitstop Sydenham, they charged me about $50 I think Edited by nomad 5/12/2007 7:53 PM
