That's gotta be embarrassing for the LS. I wonder if the LS600hL will have the same outcome in future tests.

Just wait until all that electronic wizardry starts to break and then they'll wish they had that Lexus!

RE: Luxury Car Showdown

If I were given the choice, I think for me it would be

1. S550

2. XJ8

3. A8

4. 750i

5. LS460

Although, I really don't fit in the Jaguar, I love Jaguars

Nobody goes to this forum anymore...

Why would you put the A8 in last?

My order:

1. S550
2. A8L
3. 750Li
4. LS460L
5. XJ8L

That's not to say any of them are bad cars, though... all of them are so sweet, being in "last" in this company is an accomplishment, also. Simply being considered!

Good point!! It's like saying there are two groups. The slowest person in group 1 is still faster than the fastest person in group 2.

Welcome to the forum, btw!

I want to like Audi I really do, they make some great cars but something about them just does not have that X factor for me, I dunno why.

^^^ I agree exactly... I respect the Audi and I think they're near perfect.

But something is missing.  Pizzazz..

To me, Audi's are generally a little understated and conservative with their styling, although most say the opposite is true with their new grille styling. Whatever. The grille doesn't make the car.

Although it's commonly "reported" that Audi's have dead steering feel. I think.

RE: Luxury Car Showdown

I dunno,.., I've driven Audis and I'd say they're unassailable.

But I hate the buck-tooth grilles, same as with the new VWs.

Everyone's trying to appear all "aggressive" n sh*t

I don't think the big grille makes it aggressive at all. There aren't any dramatic curves or lines in the Audi. It's very...German looking. Looks as tank like as the W126 or W140 looked like.

BTW, I think part of that has to do with the buyer's market decreasing in age every year. That, and old farts are trying to look younger and cooler.
