How reliable are the late W210s, especially the E320? Any problems to look out for? I got to spend some time in my uncle's in California a few years ago and I was really impressed. Oh, and how rare is factory navigation on the W210? I rarely see them. |

Don't know about 2002, but I've been happy with my 98 E320. Just had to replace the crank position sensor (at 62,000 miles). Other than that, routine maintenance. Tell your Uncle not to believe the "lifetime sealed" baloney about the transmission. I just changed my fluid at 60K. It's a great road car, 30MPG at 75 MPH. |

I think he knows about the tranny fluid deal. If not, I'll tell him next time I see him. Last I recall, it's pretty low mileage still. |

avoid the 98's as they have alot of problems (such as the harmonic balanacer, spring perc dislocation etc) also the 98's have a sever identity crisis (various specs). ALL W210's have rear window regulator issues AND CPS problems as far as i know.
You're best off going for a facelifted 00+ model, as far as i know they came with command as standard but it's possible that it only for this market.
All-in-all the W210 is a great machine (to work on) and is still my favorite modern merc. |
