I have a 2001 E-320 that has an inoperative ambient temp gauge, the display only shows a dot that I am assuming is the degree symbol. is the gauge bad or could it be as simple as a bad bulb? any help will be appreciated! I'm not sure if you are reffering to the one in the dash (near speedo) or the AC unit. but if it is the one in the dash it's most likely down to the poor quality wiring which attach to the meter. they can either be repaired (check contacts & conductivity) or replaced, which should cure your problem. | ||

Failed on my 2001 and easily replaced. (It's the pointed thing that sticks out of the small dummy grille next to the front near side fog light. Push fit from behind the grille. On mine it had been pushed out (back) by over enthusiastic car cleaning and was dangling near the wheel. Small empty hole in the dummy grille is the clue!)
