Akebono Pads

I'm thinking of these for my brake service that's currently due. The one review on The Rack from a 01 430 owner gave it a "0" rating - noise and poor performance. Does anyone here have any experience with these pads? I like the OEM pads but don't care for the brake dust. The Akebonos basically fix the dust issue.

Re: Akebono Pads

I installed Akebano Front Pads couple of thousands miles ago. So far, I like them. Performance is pretty compatible with OEM pads (I would say that performance is same), but no dust and after thousands miles wheels are clean. I'm going to buy Akebano brake pads again (I'll need to replace rear brake pads soon).

never used them, but a friend used "green stuff" on his W210 in the Uk (i think it's by EBC or something) and he loves the fact that there is almost no brake dust and the same (if not better) braking at the same time.

RE: Akebono Pads

Update:  Had a set installed up front beginning of summer and have only good things to say about them - noiseless, very little dust and stops just as good.

RE: Akebono Pads

I have had them on m5 2001 E430 Sport since lst summer. Absolutely no problems. I don't track the car, but the brakes have not failed me in the slightest. Liked them so much, I put them on the 1997 C280 Sport. No more brake dust too!
It gets cold in Wisconsin. No problems with cold weather performance either.
