300 TD Wagon Prices

Has anyone noticed how the price of these 25-year-old wagons keeps going up!! Even with high miles they are bringing 20% more than a year ago. Diesel engines I'm sure are part of the reason, but I recently saw one go for $12,000 or so.

RE: 300 TD Wagon Prices

It's definitely true, and confirmed by the article that DB posted here

I've been looking at wagons lately, for no good reason.

I always want the tailgate glass to open separately though, so I can stick 2x4s out the back

W 123 of any kind are realible , solid , nice to drive . When i see mine in my garage near 2000 series of BMW or MB i see they are infinitely more strong! They have special design lines , they are the pagoda of the sedans !They will be here when these others will be parts....

I LOVE my wagon. You can lay all the seats down flat, remove the rear seat bottoms and fully recline the front passenger seat (after removing the headrest) and you have 10' from front to back for 2x4s. No need for the hatch glass to open at all! Plus the SLS handles the loads very well.

Good to see someone was honest enough to include this receipt, I guess I won't be buying this one though..

RE: 300 TD Wagon Prices

Just by chance, the December Classic & Sports Car which arrived today has an article by Martin Buckley about how much he likes the 123 wagon and how sorry he is that it's now been 'discovered'... apparently even starring in new TV commercials over there in Britain..

Re: 300 TD Wagon Prices

Yeah, prices on these wagons is almost out of control. Many being WAY overpriced. But you can say the same about many of the others as well. THe sedans are getting more costly as they are getting in worse and worse shape on the average.

RE: 300 TD Wagon Prices

Mine's a rare Eurowagen and for sale on ebay right now w/ a $5300 reserve. I think with a nice paint job, it could be one of these real high dollar ones.

RE: 300 TD Wagon Prices

Is this one it?  The listing says it's a 1985 and also says it's a 1980.

RE: 300 TD Wagon Prices

It is an '85...ebay wouldn't accept the VIN, so listed it as an '80 (I stated in the auction twice that it is an '85, though)
