Will a 230 gasser radiator fit a 240D? I don't believe it's a 230E. I know a 617 radiator won't work?

RE: w123 Radiator Interchange

Any W123 radiator will fit. You would only have to add the expansion tank for the 617a rad to work.

hey, thanks for finally replying.

I just noticed a little hole in my radiator wherever a little bit of coolant was squirting out! The needle didn't get too high, so all is well.

Damn I love a cast block AND head. So durable.

Except in the case of auto verses manual transmission models, because of the trans oil cooler built into the lower radiator tank. I guess you could use one from an automatic car in a manual car, but not the other way around.

exactly.....I would just cap off any unused lines to prevent salt from entering and eventually promoting a leak if this is going on a manual transmission equipped car.
