Any hope for Phone Service in my 99 E320 ?

Is there any adapters or a way to use my factory phone ? I have the older Motorola square phone, not the V 60. At&t says I have to have a phone with a simm card. Could I use a later model radio? Would connections be a problem? Big thanks for any help! Jon

Your factory phone is analog and that support will end this year. You could upgrade to a digital but my question would be: Why? Integrated phones are so yesterday and everyone carries their cell with them everywhere they go. The only reason to upgrade to digital is if you have teleaid and that is about $600 to upgrade by MB.

I still would like to know how to upgrade . My wife really likes the hands free feature...so.. what the wife likes ....you know. I have friends at the benz dealership & have been a gearhead all my life, so I can do the job with parts & tech info. THANKS, Jon

It's pretty easy and relatively inexpensive to upgrade your phone. You will need a "dual sense" PSE, a V60 Cradle, and a V60 Bluetooth puck. I upgraded my 2001 SLK from a Motorola Timeport and the bluetooth system works quite well. It cost me about $600 in total including the bluetooth puck. Installation took about an hour. There is a lot of good information posted on this and other forums to point you in the right direction. By the way, I agree with your wife. The integrated phones are great.
