| Nokia Car Kit MERCEDES E200 2004
HELLO IM A NEWBE
I have a mercedes benz E200 2004 which has a car kit factory fitted with a Nokia 6310i car kit with a cradle in the centre armwrest. I bought a nokia 6310i and when i put it in the cradle it begins charging but the dashboard display says no phone. Do i need to change someting on phone itself or set it up for the car or anything?

Is the plug cable connecting the cradle spiral or straight?
If it is straight (system 386 or 388), I think you need cradle part A 171 820 04 51 or B 6 7 87 5822
If the cable is spiral (system 852 or 854) then I think only cradle B 6 7 87 5822 functions. The other one does not work. In effect, part A 171 820 04 51 only works with the straight cable.
I have to warn you that I am no expert: its just that I have been down the path and this is my experience which might not prove helpful to you.

You've probably got the phone controller that only supports the 6210, you need to get a new control unit. Look at my website www.mercupgrades.com on the Phone FAQ, theres a note there about the part number - you have the "MOST" system
