May 2006 Preach to the Converted Thread – 126 Forum

I was driving folks around in my 91 300 SE this weekend, my parents were in for a visit. And as we drove around seeing the sites (such as they are) it would cross my mind what a wonderful driving car this was. 126s are remarkably easy to drive considering the size and weight.

My father remarked how smooth the car rode. (I don’t know if that’s good or bad considering he drives a 2003 Town Car.)

The 300 SE will be getting a new set of brake pads this weekend along with fresh ATF and filter. New oil and filter are coming along soon. Otherwise she runs like a new car. In the year and a half I’ve owned this 300 SE I’ve replace the cap/rotor and plugs along with a new fuel pump and filter. I do believe this is very close to the last of the great MBs.

For sure, right there with the W124 and W201 and perhaps the R129, in the 'last forever' category
