From what I did with my 08' ML (similar Comand HU) : Remove the ashtray (2 side screws), then in the underside of the plate wood trim with climate controls, there are 2 clips, push them up and pull the plate out.
The Comand HU has 2 screws, loosen them and pull their clips DOWN, take the head out. The rest is just plug-and-play.
