2004 E 320 Wagon

We just taded the old faithful '95 E 320 wagon for a 2004 E 320 Wagon. I was sad to see her go, but with close to 140,000 on the clock it was time I suppose. I'm spending the weekend getting to know Sue Ellen, the 2004. She is fast for sure! I spent most of this morning reading the manual. Sure has alot to read!

Wow.. congrats... the 211 is, in my modest estimation,
one of the most nearly-perfect cars ever made

RE: 2004 E 320 Wagon

Thank you! I want to get as many things checked out as possible before the warranty runs out. I am curious about the center "automatic" interior lamp switch. Even though I have switched it "on" the interior lights do not come on when the driver's door is opened. I checked the manual and I have it in the auto mode. Am I missing something?

Do the interior lights come on,when you open the front passenger door?

I kept playing with the center overhead button and now doors activate overhead lamps.

Added new tires, rotors, and pads while in for "B" service. Michlein 225/55X16 MXV4. Is that a 50,000 mile tire? They replace what was on the vehicle at delivery. They were 167.40 each.

Is that this tire? If so, it's a good one. I actually don't like long-life tires too much, the long life comes at the expense of grip, and I don't think tires are a place to economize...

I totally agree. They were original equipment on my E and my CL, and I'll replace them with more of same. In addition to the typical virtues, they are notably quiet and smooth-running tires

The Cognac interior looks so pink in some of the reviews. Doesn't show too nicely on camera. Bentley interior looks nice though.

edit: WTF, I swear I clicked on the Bentley vs. W216 thread.
