Howdy everybody. Just joined up, hoping to locate some tech info for a project. I have had 4 benzes so far. my first was a 79 240D restoration/respray/repowered with an N/A 300D. 2nd was a 300SD, 3rd was an 84 300D turbo. Current is a 82 240D. Sadly the 82 240D has been attacked by the tin-worm far worse than any of my previous W123's/W126. SO... the natrual thing to do is drop that little Oelmotor into one of my wagoneers. (sort of a W459, if you will). I expect to use the 720 transmission thru a short driveshaft to a Jeep T-14 3-speed and D-20 transfercase. Also, I will probably arrange things to adjust for a 300D as one becomes available.
Without further  adieu, I shall begin searching. As time goes on, I imagine I will float some gearing / weight / fuel mileage questions to the W460 folks.
