New Tires - Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S

At 55k miles I just put a set of 235/65R17 Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S tires on my 2007 ML320CDI. They replaced a set of Michelin Latitudes which were installed at 30k miles to replace the factory supplied Continental tires.

The installing Goodyear dealer could not believe the low Road Force numbers (3-4) for these tires. I have put 2k miles on them; and can tell you that they are quieter and drive better than either the Michelins or Continentals.

What a sweet ride! It's almost like having a new car again. Very pleased!!

RE: New Tires - Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S

Dutch, thanks for the information. We have 25,000+ on our 2008 with Continental tires and will be looking soon for new tires. Your information makes the research quite simple.

Re: New Tires - Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S

Sounds like a good tire.

I bought 4 Altimax HP tires made by General Tire on mine.

Less than a week later, I drove up to my wedding in January and drove through slushy snow in North Carolina and then I drove them all over Toronto and Ontario Canada in the snow an NY too. They were awesome. Best tires I have ever bought for the price I paid.

Having said that though, I had to replace two of them. For some reason they are "attracting nails" and even a bolt through the sidewall. HAHA Just my freaking luck.

Now I have two Goodyear's on one axle but I still have the general tire ones on the other cause that's why I could find here in Sumter, SC.

I looked at the same ones you just bought and picked the other ones because of price. I think I will go with yours next time.

Let us know how they turn out at about 10k.

Be happy to do so, if I still have the vehicle.

Re: New Tires - Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S

I recently put a set of Yokohama YK250 255-50-19 on my 08 ML350 to replace the OEM Contis at 28K (still good may be until 32K). Now at 34K, after 6K, those Yokos still quiet, hugging the road better than the Contis.

Just my two cents,

I've used three different types of the Yokos, and been extremely pleased with all of them. A fourth type will go on the Q7 when the factory supplied Goodyears are replaced. For an all season tire, these Goodyears are some of the noisiest I've ever had.
