They are used by the running boards from the factory.

Check with vadimivanovich on club g wagen. He is building solid sliders that attach all along pinch weld for a lot less.

They could be good depending on the quality of steel used. I have the factory single tube sliders. They look thin but are in fact quite stout and have caught the truck in a 1' drop directly onto a pointy rock. An impact like that leavest a dent in the tube, but it still looks good and, more importantly, the truck is unscathed. I've seen the g-wagenaccessories tubes in action and they are stronger than the factory setup.

Appreciate the help. I am sort of old and fat so could use the step to get into vehicle. Something like the Slee slider for the land cruiser. G4me

You might have something fabricated- similar to the Europa steps, which are pretty sturdy. Someone on Club G was talking about having a batch made. Here's a link to some pics of what the Europa steps look like. Old for sale ad... http://www.2040-cars.com/Mercedes-Benz/G-Class/europa-g500-lwb-with... Edited by paulunm 1/13/2018 9:37 AM

They were available in wide and less wide. The photo is the less wide version. It has one bar down the middle. The wide had two bars down the middle. They were made for Europa Int'l by a shop in middle to southern New Mexico. Marc Beyer at the shop in Santa Fe or Russ Leabch might be able to point you. They definitely would not double as rock sliders! The three mounting brackets hang lower than anything else, and they would most certainly hang on any rock.
