| Reinstalling alternator M110 W460 1982 LWB RHD
My alternator shows it was last rebuilt in February 1990. After I fixed the hot start problem by replacing the spark plugs, fuel accumulator, WUR with digital, fuel pump non-return valve, o-rings on the fuel distributor pressure relief valve, perishing rubber hoses that started to leak after being touched and fuel injectors with new (brass - Bosche), a new problem cropped up. I don't think it is related to fuel injection work, just G wagon old age.
Very high pitched metallic sound near the alternator. So today I pulled it, but due to limited access to the bolts it was quite difficult, leading me to wonder if I should be removing the grill and radiator to re-install.
Anyone changed a petrol M110 W460 alternator? What are the proper steps to reinstall? |
