I have been thinking about adding them to my G500. A couple of years ago I swapped the rear bumper for 461 series Dutch army bumperettes and the larger reverse lights used on Unimogs and some military G wagens. The tail lights can be added to a 460 with only small modifications to the opening. The 463 opening is a little different, but still very close in size. I have ordered some laser cut adaptor plates that should be here in a week or so. These should cover the 463 hole with a cut out for the army version. All reversible if desired. I used the light housing held in the adaptor plate to mark the holes for the back wall of the light housing area. On the passenger side, the floor of the battery compartment is close to the level of the screw holes, but it still got mounted up pretty easy. These were used lights off of eBay that I had the housing powder coated black and swapped out with new lenses as well.
