I know they are overkill and ugly - but they work With all the salt and ash we have had you can see the sides, underside, and rear bumper are not caked with crap. I made a bib out of an old intertube and attached under the gas pedal by hooking on the pedal clip. You can see how a very small amount of dirt makes it to the floor. Also, when I had the mats made by cocomat, I had them make a solid piece of mat rather than a split where the left foot rest is. You can see no dirt.
