Stuttgart G in Savuti

This G was driven from Stuttgart to Savuti. It is a 1983 GD300 and looks and sounded sweet. Maybe you can see the tropical roof in this picture.

When I asked the man if he had any trouble he said " Yes verdammt - ze heater fan is on ze blink and two punctures ve haff had." I answered him" Well sir, that is a pretty good description of a 1983 G"

Incidentally the tyres on this G are the 750 16 Michelin RADIALS that I wanted to fit on my cabrio. They were just too expensive and I went with the BFG MT's instead (and am not sorry).

I liked them for the high vertical reinforced sidewalls as I have nicked enough "toy tyres" sidewalls in the rough.

Boy G,

Do you have any close-up pics of the roof rack mounting to the rain gutters? I also have a tropical roof and it seems as though a normal rack mount will interfere with the secondary roof.

Cheers
