Hi,
Anyone know anything about these wheels or have any experience with them? I like how they look like the 18 inch Ashtaroth wheels.

I had a set of those for years. They were stock on the G270 and some base 463 models. They are nice and light and can give you a lot of side wall for airing down without going to a huge tire. I switched to the closed tear version more recently which are a little heavier, but supposedly stronger. The 16" Ashtaroth rims that you linked to are already stronger than the Atik rims, and those are used by some of the G-class pros here that do a lot of off-road and rough terrain driving in Baja. |

I have a set of these on my 2016 G550.
They originally were on a 2002 G500.
They are 8 inches wide, and I have a set 16-inch Michelins mounted on them.
I had them powder coated to match the color of the G.
Rims complete were about 1000.00.
The valve stem holes are not a proper fit for the electronic valve stems, and we had to make a special tool to install them.

That is actually a decent price for those wheels.
Yes, the width is 7.5" which is the same as the 18" Ashtaroth alloy |

I’m begrudgingly making the switch from a 2003 G500 to a G550 (currently eyeing 2017/2018 models).
I already have a set of wheels from my G500 (A4634010702). From this thread, it looks like they physically fit the newer G550s, but I noticed someone mentioned that the valve stem needs to be modified.
Sorry for the ignorance—I’m going from a 2003 “basic” G to a truck with a bunch of electronics I never asked for. 😄 What exactly would I need to do to reuse my existing wheels without turning the dash into a Christmas tree with TPMS warnings?

I bought a couple sets of the 16" closed tear Ashtaroth rims from Europe that came with tire pressure sensors. It looks like Gwagenlover has the 18" tires, same as yours, so it might be an issue.
I think they just need to shave some material inside the rim. |
