Just awesome. I do keep thinking about getting my motorbike licence. Making a wild guess did you use a ferry to get yourself and the bikes over there???

... suprisingly enough yes (my BM has nearly every possible gizzmo (it's like a 2-wheel 7-Series - central locking, electric windows/seats, cruise control, reverse gear, 8 speaker surround sound cd/radio/mp3 system etc. etc.), but it does not have floats!!) Ferry from Portsmouth- Bilbao, down through Spain/Portugal then ferry from Algeciras to Cueta (a Spanish 'Gibralter' like enclave in Morocco).

I honestly would have thought that your BM would have been able to convert into a light-weight plane at the press of a button

But sounds like a great journey to get there So where are you planning to hit in Russia???

Hi Paulo, good to see you over here (?) ... I've still got my Ducati (1999 ST2), but, much as I love riding it, I don't dare take it out of the country ... would have been superb in Piedmont, last September, but the Duke is just not reliable enough( ...toooooo many Jap. parts!!!).

I have never owned a Ducati... I have had all the japanese bikes.. suzuki, Kava ZZR, and about 5 Hondas so far.
Unfortunately now I use my bike only when I go to italy which is once or twice a year....
A convertible like the SLK is a good compromise in the UK where the weather is not as mild as it is in Italy. Mind you , I used to use my bikes in the snow when I was living in the north of Italy.... I guess I was younger.....

Ciao

P
