Diesel heater light on dash

Hi Guy's, I have a strange one here, when I put the ignition key in all the dash lights come on as per usual then turn to ignition and wait for the heater light (squiggly little wire) to go out then start the engine, all good so far, but then once the engine has started the heater light comes on again !! after about 2/3 minutes driving the light then goes out again and stays off until I stop the car and remove the key, but when I get back in to start the car the same thing happens. Can anybody throw a light on this please (no pun intended) and is it something I need to worry about? Oh sorry, the car is a 2003 ML 270 cdi

Thank's for your help

John

RE: Diesel heater light on dash

That is your car telling you that one or more of the glow plugs has burned out.
