I'm new to this forum and have posted pics of my GL on the album pages. Check it out. More mods to come. I'm getting an aftermarket reverse color camera integrated into the comand system in addition to dvd and ps2 integrated into Command. I'll post pics once its' done. She'll be back from the shop by Friday.

RE: Mel's GL450

I want to add the Bluetooth integration module to my GL but there is no pre-existing wiring for it. If it is not possible, anybody use other aftermarket BT modules (ie. Parrot)?

Thanks.

Congrats on the GL it looks great.
Not to be rude but your sure you dont have the phone system installed ? it was included in most launch vehicles and in vehicles with the entertainment and/or p1 packages. There would be a plasitc cap covering the dock connection in center console. I have just had a few clients who had the system and were not aware that they did. If not did someone verify you did not have the pre-wiring under the lt. rear seat ? worth a shot........

It has been coming from the factory w/ the plastic cap covering the contact plate, so people just figure its a cap there for who knows what.
all examples in photos.
1st pic. w/ cap installed over contact plate for mhi cradle or bluetooth cradle
2nd pic. cap removed.
3rd pic. no mhi phone system installed.(darker felt liner in place were contact plate would be.

Mine looks like the 3rd picture...what's the next step, if any, to having the module installed?

Thanks for posting the pics. Mel

Well you could take a look at your window sticker and see if it states anything about phone pre-wiring.
If it doese not I would still have some inspect under the lt rear seat to verify that its not wired for a phone.

Try speaking to my customizer, Allen at Cutom Lifestyles at Action Tire.  The shops' number is 973-473-2211.  Tell him Mel sent you and he will try to help you in any way he can.

Good luck.

She looks hot!! Are you thinking of adding some smaller "chromed" things like the foglights cover thing, and the roof rails in the chrome. Like the PE.

...asianML: I do plan on getting the foglight housing chrome covers but have not been successful locating them. As far as the roof rails, I am going to keep them black for now...the black keeps it from looking to tall in my opinion.

I should be getting the crossbars that I won from ebay for $100 tomorrow and will take some pics when I install it. I will be adding a roof carrier for my Mountain Bike.

I will also be adding the chrome inserts for the door handles. I was going to purchase the skid plates but will wait for a nice body kit to come out.

Best Regards,

Mel
