RE: G-ronimo pics in the Gila

Very interesting about the Indonesian meaning of Gila. Very appropriate. In SW New Mexico there is a 6-7 million acre national forest called the Gila. It was the first designated NF in the US. Not many people in the Gila - very nice, expansive, quiet place. You all probably know this, but there is a large, slow venomous reptile called the Gilamonster. I grew up on the north slopes of the Gila so I thought the name was appropriate. Also, G-ronimo was from the Gila - he was a great American Indian warrior.

This is my first camper and my first G Wagen. The thing I like the most about having a dedicated camper is that all the gear, clothes, maps etc stay in the vehicle. Fill the water tank, stop by the grocery store and your on the road. Being a G Wagen makes it that much better.

Thanks for the nice compliments. I'll post more pics as my adventures continue.

RE: G-ronimo pics in the Gila

Here are some more pics. I've installed Tibus portals, removed the spares from the roof, fabricated a rear tire mount, got some Hutchinson Beadlock wheels and 35"tires, installed G500 brakes on the front and Iveco discs on the rear and put on some bush cables (they help protect the camper seeing as the vehicle is taller than normal).

Still lots more to do this summer.
