SE G-Treffen - Vance Factory Tour

Any interest in setting up another SE G-Treffen Vance Factory (where the ML, GL and R Classes are assembled) Tour? We did this a couple of years ago with great success. It was arranged by our good friend Heinz; and we were treated very well - greeted by the President of MBUSI (I think that is the official entity), real factory engineers to accompany the regular tour guide to answer technical questions and a ride on the off-road test track (not part of a normal factory tour!). They even provided lunch in the very nice employee cafeteria. The whole place is very impressive!

We do not yet have a date set. This is just to see if there is any interest. Respond here, if interested.

RE: SE G-Treffen - Vance Factory Tour

Ellen and I are interested. We had a great time in Vance last trip. The folks there gave us a wonderful day and tour.

Unknown. Will post that information when Heinz gets back home at the end of October.

Also, we will also probably do a second day at Eurotruck like we did the last time. The two days make for a very nice Treffen.

Sounds real good

If the time frame fits, I might consider a leisurely drive from California via ??? to the Alabama landscape, visiting some friends ( the ones I have & haven't met yet) on the way. Maybe I can figure out where my stops will be and have a short mini G-treffen at the local coffeehouse or java place.

Anybody who would like to join me on this Overland Travel adventure into Vance, is certainly welcome

RE: SE G-Treffen - Vance Factory Tour

Dutch,
Glenda and I will go again.
Looking forward to visiting Vance again and seeing all of you guys.
This time we'll stay for the off road event.
Let us know when.
Will you arrange a block of rooms at the Hotel/Motel?

Not Enough Interest

There does not appear to be enough interest to pursue this any further.

Well, you might have to be a bit more specific - timing and so.

Are there any costs involved at the Vance Plant Tour?

A small group might be even better - more time to chat with the boys from MB - and it is easier to do the formal training in the parking lot

Please don't give up so quick

If such a small group responds to a general "Are your interested?" question, then you know that there will be even fewer interested if a specific date is mentioned. There are no costs involved, other than transportation to and from Vance, hotel and meals.

RE: SE G-Treffen - Vance Factory Tour

Maybe this venture should be disclosed to the ML crowd, some might want to visit the birth place of their "G-wagen replacement vehicle"

Heinz might even have some nice words for them as well.

Re: SE G-Treffen - Vance Factory Tour

So, is it still a go?
Glenda (on her 4th ML) & I are chomping at the bit to be there.
I need to go by Eurotruck too!
Sean needs our patronage.
