This event has been going on in various locations and formats since 2003. The dates as with the past many years land across Father's Day Weekend. Father's day is June 17 this year. The event is organized by Lumos Vineyard, and Clubgwagen.com We have a special add-on off-road adventure event at the Oregon National Dunes Recreation Area on Friday. We meet Thursday night and stay there first, have adventure and tour Friday, and then leave there to head to the Crisp family farm/Lumos Vineyard in Philomath, OR. That drive will take a few hours landing us there for dinner and in time to setup camp hopefully before dark. We have a pretty good line-up for the rally and a great group assembling at the farm. Looks like we even have Guido dropping in from the fatherland. He just might get the coveted "furthest traveled" award. Not too late to jump in so please come if you can. Hope to see you, if not this year, maybe next! Sincerely, steve

Thanks to Dai and PK, Serpe, Steve Smith and everyone else who put in so much effort! Only one mechanical failure, Minh's 350 burned up some electrical parts and was stranded for a while but we were able to bring parts in from Portland and Minh and Guido were able to get it back together and rejoin the gang quickly the next morning. Thanks to Guido for coming all the way from Germany, it was great to meet him! Beautiful scenery, great driving, and great people! Can't wait til next time, I hope I can drive my own G out. Jonathan Jonathan, so great that you made the trip. I hope you're able to do it again. Keep it up! Minh's truck ended up with a bit of water (from fording) underneath the glow plug relay cap which shorted it out. I was told the starter issue may have been coincidental. Maybe one of those guys will fill in the blanks. So cool that it was diagnosed before you guys left Portland and you were able to bring the goods. The truck was left Thursday nite about 20 miles north of camp. Minh and Guido left camp with parts and tools around 7AM Friday morning and were able to install and get back just after we all left. Once we landed on the beach for the group shot above, they were only 10 minutes behind us. I had a mechanical failure about 8 miles shy of the farm. The outermost top bolt of my alternator sheared in half. Was able to extract the stud and install a grade 8 bolt that we found in the bottom of Kenny's tool box. Thanks Kenny! I had brought extra bolts but they were metric of course. I had forgotten that the hardware on my aftermarket high amp Delco alternator was standard. Nice to have an all standard Hummer on the trip. Comes in handy. The sheared bolt was grade 5. Slight blunder on my part.

ClubG requires no membership to view pics so I'm a little alarmed/confused to hear that some of you can not view them. Please PM me if this is the case for you. Much appreciated. Steve

But the slideshow revealed the clues how much *fun* he had before the breakdown. All is well in the end. Jeremy and his bro came thru w/ the parts even though Dr Chris & Dr Serpe called in at 5:30PM w/ the CORRECT prognosis -- very late. There has been symptoms with the glow plug timer light intermittently lit every now and then and Karl replaced the Odyssey battery after the starter refused to kick on few occasions. The starter cable connecting bolt broke off. Once can only assume rust and vibration over the years could shear this off.
