It looks a lot beefier than my D90. Articulation might be a little less but I do not see any problems doing everything and more I did with the D90. I plan to get it dirty this weekend. A couple of comment to questions posted on site. Seats are great. Less wind noise than my 05 RR. I like the exhaust sound better. Cornering lights are cool. No tel aid, who cares. Nav still sucks compared to the RR touch screen. Although you still need a good garmin with topos it you are going off road. I like the new heated front window defroster. The radio sounds nice clear and lots of base. Over all I like the ride fells solid like I expected. I'm envious of your garage lift. I would install one in my garage if it weren't for the neighborhood roof height restrictions. I guess the neighbors will have to look at my G's parked outside! -Martin

ESP add ons? Wheels look wider than previous. Anyone know the ET of the new wheels? Joe Dirt, you could actually see the ET on the inside of the rims. Could you check? German license plate. European delivery? What’s the story behind it? Never noticed that the VG150 transfer case had a Mercedes-Benz AG label. I know they are made by Steyr (seen the production facility).

Kind of fun to see the looks on people faces.

When you check my list you'll see that Mercedes uses different ET on respective wheels. Like the last US version had ET43 - whereas the rest of the world got ET63. Meaning the US wheels were sticking out 20 mm more than on other G500. That actually means that the US version is more stable (roll over less likely) with a 40 mm wider track. http://www.rubicon-trail.com/G-Class/wheels/start.html

4x4abc Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: La Paz, Baja California, Mexico Vehicle(s): 02 G500 | RE: A look under my 07 G before it gets dirty why would it need skid plates? Nothing is hanging low - like in so many other 4x4. Also, I believe that skid plates give you a false sense of security. Know your vehicle's limits and act accordingly. I have had my G's in the most demanding places and have never even touched anything vital. (lions.jpg) Attachments ---------------- lions.jpg (276KB - 9 downloads)

Joe, you are serious about ET43?
