TWODOGS Extreme Veteran Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: UK Vehicle(s): Norwegian Army 240GD Posts: 584 ![]() | raised air intake hello all I am in the process of converting a petrol G into a 300GD to use on off road weekends and fancy fitting a raised air intake as this is a 1984 G 460 I don't think Mercedes made a raised air intake for this modal . There was a post on the other forum that listed all the parts needed, there is also a UK guy on there that knows a hell of a lot of stuff about military conversions going back to the early 80s neither of them have showed up here yet, but I expect they will. Its an original Schmude Snorkel for W460, but it is about 15cm shorter than the normal one. They modified it for my to fit a Safari-Air-Intake ... fits perfect and looks great. The first photo is a Schmude snorkel and the second is an Australian made Safari snorkel to suit a HJ60 Landcruiser although it is as expensive as buying the factory (as per the Canadian miltary G ) snorkel. | ||
