RE: Your G Wagen.

A few pictures of my G.
It's not my daily driver, I'm keeping it mostly for adventures.

Here's "Puchy"... my hobbled-together Gelandewagen.

Started off life as a 1980 280GE, living somewhere in Poland with it's original owner, who decided to put in the OM617... I don't know who did the swap, but they made a mess of the electrical system that after 5 months of ownership, I'm still fixing.

The Polish "mountain man" who owned it moved to the US and brought the now-300GD Wagen with him to Seattle, Washington, where it was sold to a man named Jim. I purchased the truck from Jim after a test drive and some negotiations.

First order of business has been to make it run like it should -- fixing leaks as they come up, flushing fluids and replacing the entirety of the Glow system.

Now I"m on to electrical and body.

Big aspirations -- restoration for now, and depending on California laws, OM606A / OM603 Injection Pump with Sprinter 6-speed will be in the distant future. I don't feel all that bad about customizing the driveline as it wasn't original as I bought it.

Such a great truck!

RE: Your G Wagen.

Thanks! There are some places around where I can do some light offroading. Going to explore soon!

Thank you! That's Victoria Harbour looking from Mt Davis, which is on the west side of the Island.

Re: Your G Wagen.

Thank you!
The only way to go to the Peak is an easy open road. Nothing challenging at all.
But I did visit some antenna site on a hill top. The area is accessible through a poorly maintained narrow road. Easy but fun. Will try to post some photos when I go there again during the daytime.

Re: Your G Wagen.

Thank you! I agree!

Other colours were available too. E.g. red is not bad, but I didn't choose it bcos that one didn't have the towing hook.

Re: Your G Wagen.

I believe that is my truck in the middle of the 1st pic. One of the few true Proffesional versions with the 2 rear seats, 2 rear doors and wood floor with cargo tie-down rails. Plus it has the rare reinforced walk-on bonnet. It is also 12v only, as opposed to 12v/24v that most others (referred to here as a "Military" version) with the single rear bench seat and single rear door have.
