RE: Picture Thread - Your Gs

lol i see it is a support vehicle for the ML..how appropriate!
pics of our previous G in dubai..sorry about the quality, in those days quality digital photography wasn't so cheap! note the huge tyres (275 i believe) on narrow rims (6-inch), custom fabricated side steps, and original-size spare wheel cover..i loved that colour!

Re: Picture Thread - Your Gs

I've been wondering about the LWB 2 door G's. Were they old ambulances or something? One was once featured on a MB commercial here in the states but I've never seen one.

Re: Picture Thread - Your Gs

Back then all 460 and 461 could be ordered van style LWB (2850 mm), 3 door.

No longer possible with 463.

Re: Picture Thread - Your Gs

Yep, but it looks cooler than it actually was.
The layer of snow was thick but really light.

RE: Picture Thread - Your Gs

Here's a few pictures from the weekend and the weekend before.

This weekend, I was helping a friend of my stepdaughter to move. She has gotten an apartment in a house at the top of a very steep hill. In addition to the steep hill, it was kinda slippery - I had to sand a little, so that people carrying stuff didn't slip and fall..

Didn't faze the G, though. Drove a little downhill and parked. Emptied the car and backed up again... (most of the times without any sand on the snow - I added that after three people had fallen on their butt... )

The weekend before, I got a call in the middle of the night from a friend that had spun out of the road and ended up partially in a ditch and couldn't get out again. He was driving a Mitsubishi L 200. (I appologize for the bad quality - I took a photo with the mobile, and it isn't very good at taking pictures in poor light...)

I pulled him up easily enough. I tried hauling him up forwards, but that didn't work - The more I pulled, the bigger the heap of snow in front of the car. Then I pulled him backwards, and that worked nicely.

Re: Picture Thread - Your Gs

Not neccesarily... A sufficiently deep puddle hit at 30-40km/h will splash water higher than the car - especially with the 31x10.5 A/T tires I use in spring/summer/autumn. Actually, I think it's a bit fun, but I guess a pedestrian walking by on the sidewalk wouldn't find it nearly so funny....

The old, very worn tires didn't splash nearly that much water around, but then they were prone to hydroplaning.

Re: Picture Thread - Your Gs

true, but looking at that pic it loks fairly fast due to the angle/hight of the water.
I must say I love hitting water at speed. I got hit by a wave once while blasting down a beach at 100kph!!! And we are not talking about a small wave either! Great fun

Who needs a tractor

This shot is taken at 2300hrs in the dark. Just a little Canon point and shoot digital was used hence the grainy shot.
But with 46 bails of hay on a little trailer it was worth a shot
