I will definitely will be in Telluride week of June 28 to July 2 and would love to meet up with some G folks for some day-rides in the mountains.

How about some cold ones in the evening at that fancy hotel of yours?

I would like to be there but my time frame pushes me into Ouray in late July. I would love to go to the Oregon gathering but the time frame & distance don't work. Have fun!

I'll be in Telluride as mentioned above and now in addition to Telluride I'll be in Canyon de Chelly for July 4th. Anybody else game?

I'll try to make into Colorado before the 4th of July and might consider driving into the Telluride first - while the beer is still cold.

Also I would need to find a place to stay camping or so, motel might be a possibility as I'm looking at June 30th or July 1st - it's before the weekend of the 4th.

If you have your G, hire a Navajo guide to ride with you and drive up the canyon bottom. Other than by "Shake & Bake", it's the only way to drive in the canyon bottom. It's a great day trip.

RE: Spring/Summer 2010 Utah/Colorado?

I will be in Telluride starting Monday June 28 for the week and then in Canyon DeChelly for July 3-4 weekend. I've arranged for a guide at the Canyon because it is required to be able to drive the off-road there. Aren't there some more G's in the area for a get together?

I'm curious. What are the dimensions of the mattress - how long, how wide? I see the exterior dimensions of 2.2 meters long and 1.3 meters wide, but it
s the mattress dimensions that are important.

Will it mount on cross bars, or does it need the rack as a base for stability of the floor?

Will you be selling the tent?

Dutch,

I rolled our ThermoRest out and there was another 2" or 3" space length wise - so, I believe the mattress is ~78" long x 46" wide.

You can leave your bedding up there and just close the lid.

I do not like cross bars, too high, to flimsy (sorry guys).....the tent carrier has the three mounting legs over the structural perfect location - that's for vehicles with the old rain gutter for sure.

No, I do not want to sell the other tent or trailer - I'll rent it out to you when we are both driving down the Baja peninsula next Spring.

Karl

Karl

78" mattress in a shell that is 86.6" long. Seems like about 6" of wasted space.

Does your tent carrier allow room to tilt up the sun roof?

Also, I was asking if you will be selling the Hannibal Impi tents through G-wagenaccessories. No interest in pulling another trailer. Been there and done that with the best of the best.

Pics of trip at:

Enjoy! We did.

I've posted more pics at above address. We made some G-reat new friends and had a wonderful time together. The pics cover Last Dollar Road, Monument Valley, Clear Lake, Yankee Boy Basin and Canyon De Chelly. We are not even home yet and are talking about what the next G adventure will be.

Ok Dutch,

you made me climb up into the tent with a certified measuring tape.......

inside measurement is 82" long.

No, the extreme low carrier allows only the sliding roof to slide back and forward.

Yes, I will be able to sell Hannibal Impi tent, but also develop this type low profile carrier G-wagen specific for other tent brands.

It's Vehicross99, a very nice couple out of Texas with their very clean '06 G-500.

The pictures were taken up in the Yankee Basin
