Imagine the number of MB SLR in the US.Hahaha

I dunno about that either. I went to my local dealer, and saw 2 sitting in the showroom. No one bought them yet, one silver, one black. And in Southern California, there are A LOT of rich people, AND, my local dealer is one of the biggest in the United States, so I guess everyone who wanted to buy one, already did. I don't know the number of that either, but believe it or not, there is a decent amount of them.

We finally got the new W221 here I saw one at the local dealership, I think they look good in the flesh. Someone must be buying it not bad for a city of 120k.

Paris Hilton drive one i think. I saw in some website.I havent seen any SLR over here yet.

I wouldn't want one though. Even if i won a SLR at the lottery or something. I would sell it and buy something like BMW 7 or something..

These exotics cars are not kind of cars for me.

same with me. It would not fit my lifestyle. It is too much. I would just get another cheaper but good car. Maybe another W140.

Do you like it? it seems to be a pretty nice car. Certainly better than the W220 in regards to quality. Not sure if it meets the quality of the W140 though

S500, you should've waited to buy the S600 after the initial depreciation price drop. Would've saved you tons. And the car would be already broken in by then so you can unleash it's full potential, given the previous owner broke it in correctly.

and the previous owner wouldn't have, cuz this car was $139,000 out the door. O well, I still think it was worth it. That car was the best. And... there is nothing like owning a brand new car. Especially when it is a 389 horsepower beast that could race ferrari's, AND WIN.

I could have bought myself a Ferrari 355 Berlinetta for the money I spent on the S600. Think about it that way.

Millions for you, but $140,000-$150,000 back in 1997.

I would never be able to afford a Ferrari though, in the long run, especially. Those cars are probably A LOT of maintenance.

probably. He could easily buy as many parts as he wants, since he had enough money to get the ferrari in the first place.

Are the SL's very rare in Brunei as well? Interesting how he did that. That is the same thing that Jeremy Clarkson of TopGear did, except he bought an SL 55 AMG. He sold his Ferrari 355.

R230- So far there's at least 20 units sold. SL350 is priced =$230k. Sl500 is more.

R129- Lots of them though. Very common like the no. of W140 here.

He says something about the Ferrari is too low. Getting into the driver seat is pain ass and the ride is not comfortable due to the conditions of the roads here.

I like the R129 better anyways.

he is probably right, but there is probably nothing like owning a ferrari.

An uncle of mine owned two Ferraris, don't ask what they were I was young and don't know. They have very nice interior, muy Aunt has a new Porchse boxter S type, although I guess it is entry level I did not see the $120,000 NZ that she paid for it, very plain plastic etc. I would be worried about owning a Ferrari and parking it in a carpark or on the street because of vandels. Not to mention you are instantly on every cops shit list. Not to mention the most you can carry in them is your briefcase on the way to work.

yea, that's true. If you have a 13 year old W140, and people are already tampering with your hood star, what do you expect with a ferrari. That sucks about the jerk who did that to your hood star.
