Nice paws, you animal.
I'm not surprised, I've offered you gloves before.

Not to freak you out, Harald, but your fingers on the R hand all seem the same length...although I can see how you would be wanting the camera to catch them all in one frame - and purposefully held them the way you did. The L hand looks different.

I just read an article about when one's ring finger (men only) is longer than the index finger (either hand), the likely hood of prostrate cancer sometime in life goes up.

Many biometric bits are being examined to look for genetic markers - traits - that correlate with certain diseases.

I agree with Steve. Where are your gloves? Likely left them at home with your wooden spoon, no doubt.

I brought 2 pairs of gloves - and like countless times before, I did not put them on. Its so damn hot in them. My hands seem happier without gloves - but this time the coarse volcanic rock (most of them rather lightweight) made my skin peel a bit.

Both my ring fingers are shorter than my index fingers. I had bent my fingers to get better light for the picture.

I brought the classic cowhide gloves.  The fingerprint area lasted for about 1.5 days.   After that their primary function was to prevent spines from poking into the backs of my hands.

Recommendations for some good gloves that wear like iron in the gripping area would be appreciated!

I don't have a specific recommendation but Ironclad may have something to suit; https://www.ironclad.com/

Thank god for the finger length Harald!
Tom had ME freaked out there for a moment.
After reading his post, I scrolled back up to look at the pic of your hands.
Frankly, it scared the dickens out of me.
What a relief.

Tom, you kill me.

You know what you guys should have done? You should have picked up a bunch of laborers in San Diego to help you with the rock moving and road rebuilding. They totally would have appreciated the work. Duh! No need to thank me. Just a little tip from your pal Stevo. Always thinkin.

Shiz, wait, what?? Link to the article please. And this may be a silly question, but looking at one's fingers from backside of hand or palm-side? (Yes, my hands must be goofy--my ring vs index finger length changes depending which way I look at them...my right hand seems to have a longer ring finger from backside but same length palm-side; my left darn close as well).

No funny jokes either Steveo, this is serious bizness!

Steve,

I have been thinking about bringing some of the guys from La Paz. They make $15 a day.
But the days of slave labor are over. And moving your own ass is pretty healthy (especially Karl needed to lose some weight).
I move thousands of rock every summer on the Rubicon and it keeps me in good shape. Gained 7 lb in 40 years.

Checking my fingers every day

I am trying to gain 25-30lbs(no joke, it's really damn difficult when you're skinny/lean!).
How much rock do I need to move Harald?

Jeremy,

may I suggest Google? It'll find almost anything for you. And its quicker than waiting for answers from someone.

Thanks Harald. Not the article I had, but says the same thing.

Your fingers may be a little shorter from all those years of trying to keep you vehicles stable while "one-wheelin" out in the desert.

there are a few hours of raw video - some of it is usable
I don't have any time to edit it since I am preparing for a client trip

You mean you can't drop everything and take care of a simple request that may only take you a few hours?
Are you mad at me or something? Geez.
