RE: Northwest G Gathering

Karl,

I was one of the last to leave the campfire that night and had a chance to query Michel. In an effort to protect the young ears that were still present, he had to modify the punch line.

If you recall, the man telling the story about the man wearing white and hitting the little white egg with the silver stick was asked what the game was called. The answer and punch line was......"F_____ it".

Wow, I missed that one, but kudos to Amzimmy for putting on the brakes for the company at hand.

I had a wonderful time seeing some a second time since the gathering in the Bay Area and meeting many new friends.  Dai has a knack for creating a comfortable, casual low key environment where everybody always feels at home.  It is amazing how so many strangers are within minutes laughing, hugging and sharing great conversation.

It is amazing what happens when a group of Gwagens and their owners get together. Common phrases heard amongst the various circles of conversation were:

"Where did you get that ?"

"How do I do this ?"

"Let me show you this"

"What does this thing do ?

"I need another beer"

Again, thanks to Dai and his loving family for hosting a wonderful event to which has brought us together and expanded "the family" which I predict will always be growing.

I look forward to seeing you all again/

Mike

and in english nonetheless!

I'd have to say that it was my favorite joke of the evening. Not because it was the funniest, but because it was the most well told and funniest to watch. Brilliant! Only a south african can tell that joke.

Thank you for coming to the Farm!

First of all PK (talking to you in parentheses), Katie, Boone and I would like to thank all of you who made the big effort to come to the farm. We really had a great time, PK said, " It was like going on a vacation, and we didn't even have to leave home!". A wonderful group of people, lots of laughter and fun.

Special thanks to Karl, Steve, Woody and others for food and drink contributions. Karl: "Master of the Grill" we bow in admiration! Everyone contributed to boosting Katie's self esteem with "The Cake" moment. (Well you know that saying about it takes a village to eat a cake.)

Special thanks to Michel and Verena for making the huge trip to be here (and then cooking dinner for everyone on Friday night in three different shifts) and Mark from the east coast. Harald gets the long drive award. Thank you all for the big effort.

Several G's didn't make the trip but folks came anyway and we are so glad you did. (Makes it much more fun to G pool).

Special thanks to Sean and Steve at Eurotruck for the goodies, they were distributed and appreciated by all.

We had over 40 people here and 14 G wagens. Next time we will get it together to have a sign in sheet that can then be sent to every one so folks can stay in touch. It was fantastic to finally meet in person so many friends! Thank you for the comments on the forum. We loved sharing our farm with you all and we look forward to the next time we can come together as a group. We seem to have a number of common interests. Too bad we live such a distance from one another, we would be having dinner together often if we were neighbors!

(I was whelmed over with everyone's generosity and great spirits. And I did notice how much you all cleaned up after yourselves. Thank you, thank you. I look forward to seeing you all again - with families in tow. This is most definitely the best family reunion I have ever been to...even given all the silliness around the campfire.)

Until we meet again and the case is sol ved,

Dai and PK

RE: Northwest G Gathering

Fantastic event. Thank you Dai, PK, Boone and Katie for your warm hospitality and inviting us into your beautiful home.
Campfires, romps through the vineyards, treks through the mountains and especially an unparalleled brotherhood of G's. It does not get any better than this. It was fun having so many motor heads together. No G escaped having its engine bay thoroughly inspected.

Thanks to Karl for schlepping me around with him in his G. Great conversations.

Thanks to Eric and Kent for allowing me to be present during the first ever "sell your G while you drive experience". And my follow-up visit to Bend where Kent bought lunch before heading out to claim his new G purchase.

Thanks Harald for the conversations and informative tech sessions

Additionally I want to thank Katie for her OMG Cake and Boone for his musical interludes. One last thing Katie you rock at the Pig Roll!
