Southern Texas Play Day???

Anyone interested in a South Texas off road trip? I'm open to suggestions for locations ... Here are links to a few places I've run across ...

Spring Creek Off Road

Trees Ranch Off Road

General Sam's

Re: Southern Texas Play Day???

Spring Creek sucks...it is just a big mud hole...not very well organized.

Don't know about Trees.

Generalsams is nice, but i have been there way too many times.

I am holding off on off-roading these days because i just got a spanking new rear bumper courtesy of a rear-ended accident. It was a "good accident" because my rear bumper had several damage areas on it from off-roading.

So, i just want to preserve the new smell for a while...however, Drew, give me a call on the next event so that i can help you get some people with other vehicles to come (Xterras, FJ Cruiser, Jeep Wranglers).

This is a reconnaissance phase to see who is around and what destinations are appealing. To begin with an on road or beach get together might suit. Certainly I would be glad to meet other than G off roaders ... No monster trucks please ...

Re: Southern Texas Play Day???

Trees Ranch sounds interesting. I might be up for that.
I'll also keep listening for anything else that gets put together around Houston/Galveston.

Your always welcome even if you don't feel like taking your 500 off pavement ... I figured a beach run might not be too rough ...  I have not run my 500 to the beach yet, but have told the Family that we would take it next time as the 280 is too warm for them ... I don't really get that part as my wife and her kids are all born and raised in southern Texas ...

I got he 4/8 yr old models 6 months ago when we were married - we have them the entire month, so ... No diapers, but still quite an experience. Their Grandmummy (wifes estranged mother, or is it strange?) told them last month she didn't like off roading because  people always tip over ... Anyway, we will figure out something age appropriate for now ...

Re: Southern Texas Play Day???

Drew, don't worry about it...my wife will probably not let him go with me anyway...my wife does not appreciate the sport...so, it will likely be just me.

Re: Southern Texas Play Day???

Our kids like the idea, or did, but they don't like the idea of going w/o AC ... I want to test the cooling fan setup on the 280 - looking for a DC Ammeter ...
