We drive a 1999 ml 430 179,00 miles. The BAS,ETS,ABS light set came on along with the brake warning light. move the truck and we get a great warning buzzer also. Read on search about a brake pedal switch causing something similar. The lights and buzzer will reset after about 15 min driving when we stop and restart. No other handling problems during this that I read that might be related speed sensors. Hook up my code reader and the only thing is a pending P0700 relating to the tranny. Any ideas.
Thank for the help

RE: BAS/ ABS/ ETS

It is very possible you're having two separate problems, here. The code, P0700 refers to the transmission control module, better known as the conductor plate. You will most likely have to replace it. Not cheap, either. As for your lights, that could be related to the conductor plate but it also could be your brake light switch. You could try disconnecting your battery for about 2 or 3 minutes to see if you can reset the transmission. But that probably will not fix your case.

Thanks for the response.
I'll pick up a brake switch and replace it.
The transmission has not given us any problems yet and I only found the pending code when I was checking on the dash warning lights. Is there anything I should be looking out for that would be related to the conductor plate? Other things related to check?

RE: BAS/ ABS/ ETS

The only issues I know associated with P0700 is the conductor plate or the possibility of needing to 'reset' your transmission by disconnecting your battery.
