Body shops use piano wire because of it's high strength and ability to cut. You'd have to start at an edge and work your way back. I'm assuming the flares are adhesed on with the 3M adhesive tape? You could warm them up with a heat gun or hair dryer and see if that makes removal easier. As for the D-pillars, good luck. Those usually bust when removing them. People replace them because they're already broken so they don't mind busting them more to remove them.
