question about tranny

was told by a local mechanic that the tranny fluid level can be checked without using the tranny fill/measuring dipstick tube. is this true ?

i think the mechanic is shooting me some bull ?? as from what i have read the proper way to check tranny is through the fill/measuring dipstic tube.

thanks

Re: question about tranny

The only way I know of is to buy the dipstick and remove the factory seal on the tube. I don't know of any sensors in the transmission, only the engine oil level sensor.

RE: question about tranny

I second RB. The ONLY correct way to check it is with the dipstick tool.
