ML hood

can som1 give me the year and model that has thesame Hood as the ML55?
i've seen a ML350 with it , or was that an upgrade///

and u think it will fit a 1999 ML430?

The special edition ML's have the AMG hood. And yes it will fit a member at BW did a hood swap to his 2000 ML but he is no longer with us since he recently sold it.

About the year for the SE cars I think they are all 05's

ok, one last question....my ML just got vandalize. some1 threw a big rock and damage the hood. i was thinking of upgrading the hood with the ML55 look.
do you think insurance will notice the upgrade Hood ? will i be able to change it with the AMG hood?

Your insurance company would not really care about which version of an ML hood you get. They would however care about the dollar value. It would be my thought that your insurance company would pay to replace/repair your existing hood, and if you wanted the 55 version, you would just need to pay the differance yourself.

trickm911, you're in luck! The MSRP of both hoods is $685. Great way to upgrade.

but shipping to Germany is prohibitive!.

On my list of mods ... before gioving the whole truck a new paint!

well here is the damage on my hood. my car is now in the shop and will be replacing the ML350 special edition Hood.
i will post pictures once it is out..

it seems the pictures attachment is not working. it will say you can only post an extension of jpg, etc..
when my extension is jpg......wierd!!!

Hey guys , It is working ... just a bug in the software! rename your extensions to ".jpg" instead of ".JPG". i.e lower case! The software seems to not recognize upper case JPG as a valid file!.

That's why you'll see all my extensions renamed!.

Yes, some folks have done the ML55 hood upgrade to their NON AMG ML's.
It works.

Correct 2005 350's and 500's came with the 55's power dome hood

Finally, got my car back with a new ML55 hood. insurance paid to paint the bumper too. i paid $0
thanks for the guy who threw the Rock

only mistake is, the painter painted the grill star silver also. i have to have my body shop paint it back to black soon

Looks real good .... I'll eventually bite the bullet and buy one from the Dealer!..... Can't seem to loacate a second hand one here in Germany!.. Been looking for ages .....
