TRANSMISSION 722.6 ML270CDI PICS PRE INSTALL (SMALL CONVERSION)

The supplier thought I had the older style of transmission with the mechanical "PUSH LOCK" for the Parkgear position. In fact I have the latest version which controls the park postion electronically and don't need this piece.

We had to remove it, and replace my cover on the new transmission where it goes into the housing. It gave me a chance to take a peek under the transmission cover.... unfortunately we later had to take the cover off again after discovering a defective N3 Sensor in the ECU.

Here are some pics of our quick conversion before installing the transmission.

You need to take this piece off the top first

Here is the push lock and the way it is installed on older transmission types!. Because I didn't need this we removed it and put it into my old transmission for safe keeping.

RE: TRANSMISSION 722.6 ML270CDI PICS PRE INSTALL (SMALL CONVERSION)

Another interesting point was that I didn't have a magnet in the pan of my old transmission!... The new one had it installed (along with all the lastest transmission design updates).

!!! Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the new pan with the magnet ..... did however take one of the old pan without the magnet!.
