East Coast Outing?

It seems the Southwest and Northwest are having all the fun.  Any owners in the are of DC/MD/NoVA want to try to get a 1 day drive together?

Re: East Coast Outing?

How about a two day in Virginia, with an overnight/dinner at the Inn at Little Washington (one of the top 10 restaurants in America). It is in Washington, VA. I don't know where we could off-road near there though.

Re: East Coast Outing?

There is a staging area with trails at lat=38.7886833333, lon=-78.52155
The name of the place is Peter's Mill/Tasker's Gap.

It is about 1 hour from the Inn at Little Washington. Looks like fairly easy trails. Anyone tried them?

RE: East Coast Outing?

Count me in.

I've researched the GW Natl Forrest OHV trails before - but haven't found time to check them out.

Great. I just cross posted at clubgwagen to see if there are other takers.
Any late July/early August days work?

RE: East Coast Outing?

How about Wednesday, June 30 for an off-road day?  It is mid-week, but prior to July 4 weekend.  Work should be slow for everyone.

Never happened. I got busy and distracted. Darn job gets in the way every time. I'd be up for an outing.

RE: East Coast Outing?

There may be another option....

This isn't G specific but there is an annual Mercedes-Benz gathering going on in Sterling VA on the 26th of March. I already contacted the organizer and he said that any Gwagen enthusiasts in the area would be more then welcome to attend (Just bring an empty stomach! ) If anyone is interested i'll post the link.

RE: East Coast Outing?

I forgot to mention that this meet is usually annual and this is the 3rd or 4th one. (On average 20 cars show up but the number increases every year)

Re: East Coast Outing?

Flanker 525, if you receive this in time - can you send the details about the event in Sterling, VA for today, March 2th? Thanks.

Tj4Tj4 - did you ever visit Virginia this month?

Either way - I'm up for an East Coast outing soon - anyone interested??

Re: East Coast Outing?

Sorry, I missed out on this. For anyone interested, the S.E. most county in Kentucky (just over the VA border) has 3,000+ elevation change at Black Mountain State Park, all levels of difficulty, assume there are camping facilities too. But haven't confirmed in a while. I'd be game any time, pm me, its maybe 3-4 hours from Cincy.

Re: East Coast Outing?

A while back I had also tried to set up a SE Treffen to visit and tour the MB Assembly Plant in Vance, AL coupled with a visit to EuroTruck in the Atlanta area; but there was not enough interest to proceed.

I'd be down for a trip like that DUTCH, but I couldn't make it as far North as VA/DC for just 1-2 days.
