Another G-wagen Adventure completed

Our G-wagen scout trip down the Baja a couple weeks ago had also a little side note:

to visit the 27N 112W degree confluence off the beach Santa Ines, the visit has been accepted and is now posted at:

RE: Another G-wagen Adventure completed

Eric,

all the easy confluence points have been visited - in the US only Alaska has a good number of unvisited points.

I did a very remote one in Baja a few years back (one of the last two on land). Very exciting! http://confluence.org/confluence.php?id=2627

Wanted to do the last one as well. http://confluence.org/confluence.php?lat=28&lon=-113
Unfortunately I mentioned my plans and schedule - only to be beat by someone who had listened into that conversation.

Some of these points require intense planning and strenuous hikes. In some countries you risk being arrested stomping around in off limits areas.

The G is a perfect tool to get as far as you can get driving - and then set out hiking. Or climb into a boat like Karl.

You can, of course, also re-visit any of the confluence points. We need destinations, and old mines or ghost towns are getting kinda boring.

I had no ideea that this degree confluence project is going on
It's really cool you got to contribute to it.

I think it would be nice if they got something going with google earth...so that you can just spin the globe...click on a place, read the story and see the pics.

Good job!

I like the group "we-all-just-threw-out-our-backs-simultaneously" shot best!
Nice one KV.

Steve,

we are not old enough to throw out backs

by the way,
we will do a trip into uncharted Baja territory with a handfull of brave explorers about the first week of April 2011

I will announce it shortly in the events section

not only will it be the first time ever that this section of Baja will be driven - it might be the last time as well, as locked gates (one is already up) will keep people out

I forgot, you don't have kids.........yet.......or that we're aware of.

The Baja trip sounds awesome. It is highly unlikely that I will be able to participate but will exercise the smallest teensy weensiest tiniest inclining of possibility. XO.

RE: Another G-wagen Adventure completed

the first couple of hard core adventurers are already bailing out - the proposition moving rocks was too extreme
heck, how else do you define "extreme adventure"
just glueing a label onto something will only work in advertising
this is real guys!
if it were muddy, Camel Trophy would have gotten an exclusive use right to the track
but its dry there and Camel Trophy is out of business anyway

I see it already coming - it'll be me and Karl
that's OK, I would even pull this one off alone
would only take a few days longer
but who is gonna run the video?

RE: Another G-wagen Adventure completed

February?!!? Dang it, I took the beginign of April off already Is this final?
I don't think Feb will work for the Opel clan, we are committed to a ski trip in Colorado. Oh well, I'll be looking for an April adventure if anyone is interested, Harald are you still considering having a second group in April like you mentioned before?

RE: Another G-wagen Adventure completed

Ahh, good too hear. I'm a bit bummed to miss the "hard core" run, but I'll take what I can get. The calendar shows the april event full. How many are you expecting? There are around four of us from the N.M. area planning on heading down, is that going to be a problem with what you have planned? And the million $ question, are kids going to cramp anyone's style?

RE: Another G-wagen Adventure completed

James,

these Baja Entdecker Adventure are family events anyhow, different from the Extreme Adventures.

Especial your kids are so well behaved, it was a real pleasure traveling with them - so their parents

Please just make sure Abigal has plenty of polishing rags and used the the deep gloss wax on our cars....

Be so good and email me your vacation dates and let's go from there.

Karl
