Re: Rear sliders for LWB?

On lwb van bodies you can have sliding windows on the side.
These are military 461 models however I've seen them on.

Re: Rear sliders for LWB?

We have been manufacturing the custom G bumpers since July for customers, they are available.
I don't have them on the GP website yet becuase initial orders exceeded our production capacity, so it did not make sense to market them further.

But we have caught up, we are working on our last fulfillment from initial batch order.

So far they are in several countries on different W460 and W463 vehicles with outstanding results.

If anyone is interested, please contact me at mserpe@gwagenpreserve.com

We have designed a rear bumper, rear bumper with integrated hitch (including for 2009 and newer W463)
And we have two different front bumpers, available in various widths and with various options including winch mounting for M6000-9500 series winches (slimline) and also our HD bumper for the 8264/8074 Warn.

The slimline can integrate a front 2" receiver for attaching racks, hitch to push trailers, multi-mount winch mount, etc. We also offer the slimline with no winch mount for less.

We have also been working on our new 460 skidplate for the rear gas tank.

As for the sliding glass windows, we have not located anyone who can make them to our standards...yet.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks Bram but Kasten sliding windows are much too long for the rear window space of our LWB's...

RE: Rear sliding windows for LWB?

I was following this thread back in 2010.

I have always been looking and last year finally found a rear sliding window. The gull wing windows have been available from Frontrunner for a few years, but the sliding windows were still elusive.

Here are the ones that I found and I bought a right/passenger side version for my G500 camper.
This company is called Explore-Glazing and is located in Holland, they also offer a gull wing version for decent pricing.
https://explore-glazing.nl/en/products/mercedes-benz-g-class

This window has an active forward pane with the latch along the upper edge and come in 15% and 60% tint which match the other OEM G-class glass windows.

RE: Rear sliding windows for LWB?

Today I was on eBay-Kleinanzeigen and saw another LWB 5 door rear slider.
The sliding window frame is more similar to OEM in appearance than the one I have. The seller of these has made both glass panes active with fore and aft latches.
They also have sliding windows for the SWB model.
According to the ad, they only are made in clear or 15% tinted glass. I suppose you could cut custom matching dark tint or just put some tint film to match a darker tinted G.

These remind me a lot of the old school Toyota Land Cruiser rear sliders with 2 operating glass panes.

Here is a picture. I don't know if there is a shop selling these other than the eBay-K ad.

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/schiebefenster-5-tuer-me...

Edit: I did hear back from the seller. He has no website or shop but he is putting together a quote for price for shipping to USA from Poland.
