RE: Baja California March 2011

Carlos,

we start and end in La Paz:
http://www.baja101.com/Baja-California-Nature-Trips/index.html

San Felipe used to be really nice. Quiet, laid back, inexpensive, nice people, good food. Now there are way too many Americans per square mile. Weekends and spring break, plus all other major holidays have screaming crowds flood down from the close by border. Its like the seedy part of Hollywood with more sunshine. Yikes!

Take an extended tour of Baja and find a nicer, less expensive place.

Re: Baja California March 2011

Great pics you guys. I am way jealous.

We got pounded with over 100" of snow this week ... and over 45+ft total so far this season in the Tahoe basin. Thank goodness I run steel studded tires in the winter season ...

Guess who never gets stuck?

Looking forward to a Mexico treffen at some point with Harald and crew! Did I say that right?

Be well!

Patrick

Re: Baja California March 2011

Harald, nice trip pics.

Carlos, San Felipe is very nice on Monday through Thursday. I avoid the town and beaches on the weekends, better to head south past Puertocitas for a couple days. The beaches are nice, water warm, beer is cheap, and it is only a short run down from the border. I know of a couple houses for sale at El Paraiso (Pete's Camp), which has a beautiful beach and nice restaurant/bar. This spot is my favorite although you will find me in a hammock under a palapa down on the beach, camped next to my Steyr Puch 4x4 rolling condo.
