Pleased that your family were not seriously injured in this event, Did the airbags not deploy?
Land Rover have really gone down hill since they became a FORD company, but lets not get carried away with poor workmanship the product is only as good as the people that maintain it, and in my experience you have to go a long way to find a decent vehicle technician in the USA.
The G Wagen is not infalable, if you badly adjust the ABS sensors you will get exactly the same result, no brakes at low speed.
I have driven what must be hundreds of Landrovers in extremely difficult terrain and conditions over the years about 45 of them, years that is, I have also driven many other makes under similar conditions, Austins to Zils. I drive G Wagens now because they are different, mine are reliable because I maintain them myself, the LRs were the same, the ones I maintained myself rarely let me down. |

Production quality may well have gone up, but a lot of experienced Ford fitters suddenly find themselves being referd to as LandRover technicians.  |

Well one thing I do know is when a Land Rover and a Dodge Neon go at it the LR always wins.
The airbags did deploy but at 10/15 MPH they were probably not needed.

I'm with marco. I've never heard of a vehicle losing 3 brakes. That's offensive. Losing the airsuspension is one thing. Brakes is another. That sounds recall worthy. You better make sure your wife likes that idea because if it fails again, whom-ever said yes to that deal is gonna feel extra bad if there's an injury next time... basically the only person driving it should be the one who accepted it so there's no-one to blame. |

Well, I still own two LR's. And I agree with MarcO. I'd never step foot in it again after that kind of near-death experience from an electro-hydraulic safety system that rely's on something akin to random FM developed by the Prince of Darkness.
