Slogan Help

Hey all,

I am trying to put together a slogan to use on my G. Here are my ideas:

"Hand-built Heritage and Adventures Since 1979"

"Adventures Since 1979"

"Off-road Adventures Since 1979"

Which is your favorite? Any other slogan??

Thanks.

I to think mb should have something for g owners. then again ever time i see a discovery with "the best 4x4 ever" or BEST 4x4 in the window at the mall with chrome wheels i have to laugh.

the way the world is today i don't think i would do a slogan / stick. Main reason that is just asking for trouble from others.

"A Legend" or The Legend or just Legendary would be straight to the point.

Thanks all for your input.

How about: "Off-roading Adventures Since 1979"??

This is a secret project i am working on. It's actually not much of a project, but it's something i need for my G.

RE: Slogan Help

Just being in South Africa I went to a local MB dealer and got a nice sticker for my G
Actually 2
One says Mercedes Benz of Umhlanga (Sounds like Umshlunga) That makes people look. Second I got one of those football shaped stickers that has ZA on it. Funny story behind that. In affricaans it is Suid Afrika but sounds like Zuid thus the ZA. Kinda funny
Anyone in the US that would want a ZA sticker just to screw with people and make them go ????? Just ask

RE: Slogan Help

On ZA. None of the official names for South Africa can be abbreviated to ZA, which is an abbreviation of the Dutch Zuid-Afrika. This is a legacy of when Dutch was an official language in South Africa, before being replaced by Afrikaans, in which the name of the country is Suid-Afrika. Afrikaans replaced Dutch as an official language in South Africa in 1925, 65 years before .za was introduced. However, the .sa domain is used by Saudi Arabia.

Umhlanga is a coastal town on the North coast of South Africa. It is a Zulu word which means "place of the reeds".

What about "Gwagen the Mercedes of 4x4's" although these days the name Mercedes don't carry much weight.

The G was also called the Rolls of 4x4s .

And in an american mag i read once:
<<Being from Society's upper crust-movie stars, entrepreneurs, the Pope- those who travel in guh-LIN-de-vaghens are achievers>>

RE: Slogan Help

I always liked the German: Wo ein G ist, ist auch ein Weg. Where there is a G there is a way.

The Unimog one is even better. Something along the lines of 75 percent of the planet is covered by water, the remainder is accessible by an Unimog.

RE: Slogan Help

How about..."Boxy but good!", or "looks like the box most 4x4's come in" possibly .."the German refrigerator on wheels" how about "my hood is perfect for dinner parties". "Aerodynamically challenged"..uhm.."think outside the box"..."Canadian army delivery system, eh!" "Same design since 1979.. at least the wheels are round!" /.."Wind resistance has its drawbacks"

I just thought humor would be more palatable.

Cheers

Re: Slogan Help

Or, combining some ideas: "Legendary Off-road Adventures Since 1979" (my favorite)

or "Hand-built Adventures Since 1979"

You could add a string of adjectives to the front of the phrase all day, but at some point it gets kinda ridiculous. I think I see what you want to do. Keeping it fairly short of seems reasonable. Ultimately, it's your G, so make it your slogan.

Re: Slogan Help

1. "The world is my playground"
2. "Got G?"
3. "If it's not broke don't fix it. The G since 1979"
4. “Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow nor dark of night shall keep the G from it's destination.”
5. "Shaken but never stirred since 79"
6. G-Wagon motto since 1979: "Been there done that"

Re: Slogan Help

It's a mixture of German and English and a play on words. To the common person, it would read, "I fart, bye bye." Farts are supposed to be smelly, so since farts are smelly, you're moving. And in moving you're saying, "bye bye."

But to the one who speaks German (and they would recognize the spelling), Fahrt means "go" so the slogan reads, I go bye bye. And I think you can also use Fahrt for "drive", so the phrase could also read, "I drive, bye bye".

Some G humor. LOL
