Recently, after starting up my 1995 G320 after not running it for a few days, I noticed that upon turning on the headlights, the following happened: - The right-hand (passenger-side) arrow stayed lit in the instrument cluster - The right-hand front turn indicator on top of the front fender stayed lit brightly - The right-hand rear turn indicator in the taillight stayed lit - Activating the turn signal lever to indicate a right turn, the turn signal would not blink (just stayed lit) - Activating the turn signal lever to indicate a left turn, the turn signal blinked as normal (while the right side stayed lit brightly) After driving the truck for a couple of miles, the indicator lamp in the cluster went out and all functions returned to normal. Yesterday, after picking my truck up at the airport after returning from a four-day business trip, I noticed the same symptoms. Also, I could not activate the emergency flashers (would not activate/flash). Again the left-turn indicator worked fine, but the right-turn exterior indicator lamps stayed lit with instrument cluster illuminated. This stayed during the entire 75-mile trip home from the airport. Some research and deduction indicated that the turn signal relay may be at fault. I did find that my Federalized G320 had the clear-blue Hella relay, as in the attached image. Removing the relay, cancelled all turn signal/emergency flasher function. I removed the cover and examined the circuit board for solder-related flaws. I didn't see any flaws or other obvious physical issues, so I snapped the circuit board back into the housing and replaced the relay into its socket. It worked as it should (both turn signals operating, flasher operating, no arrow lit in the cluster). However, I also noticed that when I activated the turn signal (either left or right), the double-arrow lamp at the bottom of the cluster (which normally blinks only when the emergency flashers are activated) would blink ONCE in unison with the blinker arrow, and then it would not blink again, while the correct indicator arrow blinked as normal. I don't think it is the turn signal stalk, because the stalk is working both when the relay was not, and now when it is. I have ordered a new replacement relay from Rovers North (evidently, certain Range Rovers used the same relay). It is supposed to be a direct replacement for the old relay. I'll report back when I get the relay to see if I remedied the issue.
