How good is a G

On Friday last my pal two dogs called me, could I help him recover a G he had bought, It hadn't moved since 1999. LWB 300 GD Auto 9 Seater,. Took OIL and a recovery bar plus all the usual gear to the location 15 miles away on Sat pm. Put some air in the tyres and towed it back to Camp Ferocious. arriving around 5-30 pm got a fresh battery out and fitted, by 5-45 we were driving it around the farm, I will leave him to tell you what he paid for it.

Good story. Would that there were finds like that here in the states.

Re: How good is a G

Just saw this car today, after a very educational and entertaining visit to Camp Ferocious!
I found it hard to believe it was in storage for so many years, I tell you these cars are built well, only if cared for!
Reminds me of our first 463, it was apparently made in 1994, and mothballed in Germany, then we heard about it and imported it in 1997. Imagine 3 years of no use, barely 140km on the clock, and yet it was as new, the only things that needed attention were the tires (they weren't pumped up, developed flat spots), and steering damper/track rod (symptom:vibration at ~100km/h).

Re: How good is a G

Almost unbelievable! So I guess the prospect of keeping a G under storage for a few years, if done properly, is not out of the question. It is amazing what gems lie in abandoned garages around the UK

NB. For those not familiar with the MoT, it is the name given to the annual vehicle roadworthiness test, mandated by what used to be the Ministry of Transport (now a Department!)

Yeah, that's just because some funny b@st@rd moved the steering wheel to the other side! Now how much do you have to spend to put the poor thing right?
