History:

Imported about 12 years ago by Norm Keiser, he paid lots of $$ to Wallace Labs to have it completely US DOT/EPA certified. Cost was approx $15,000.

It went to NY, was driven for about 1 year and a half, then put away until 2011.

I purchased it from Mike Serpe in July of 2012 and drove it from San Fran to AZ. Have only used it a time or two per week since to keep it running and problem free.  The following link is for the original ad posted here.

Maintenance:

The following items were those I asked Mike to perform prior to my picking the truck up from his shop and are in addition to the money spent getting the up to spec after being stored. The wiring harness on the truck is in excellent condition and has not been replaced. I also added a new exhaust and O2 sensor in order to insure that the truck passed emissions here in AZ.

AXLE

1. repack the CV's                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     2. replaced their boots and straps

Replaced hub seals                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     7. Replaced both sets of knuckle seals

 Differentials

1.Front differential drain and inspect, looks great, no play, refilled with GL-5 gear oil as to factory specs 2. Rear differential drain and inspect, looks great, no play.

T-case

1.      Drain T-case fluid and inspect, no powder or dirt or water or shavings found, looks good.  Did function tests, passed.  Refill with GL-4 Gear Oil as per factory spec.

Driveshafts

1. Check for play in u-joints, all joints seem good

2. fill slip joints with 3-4 pulls of grease as per spec

 Coolant Hoses

As for the hoses, they all look decent and we would run them as is, but they are certainly not new. Complete set of new hoses go with the truck. Part numbers of the hoses included are:

463 501 45 82                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 463 501 06 82                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             463 501 17 82                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 104 203 04 82

The truck is in very nice shape and mechanically very sound. It has had a recent interior detail and does have a new spare cover on it. The steering wheel could stand a bit of attention as it is sun-beat at the 12 o’clock position and the driver arm rest does not return to the horizontal postion. Feel free to contact me with any questions at 520.822.7770. No resellers or dealers unless you want to purchase the truck from me.

Amazing rig. I love the interior dash layout. They should have left it like that.

Good luck on the sale

Sure looks great for a truck with that age, - I noticed MB kept the switch for the diff-locks in the 2002 update, just rotated 90 degrees

AZCarGuy, when Norm/Mike had this truck I considered it also. However, at that time the truck did not have Ca Certification
and I was unwilling to spend $5k+ to do so. Did you have this vehicle made CARB legal since then? Thanks.
